Tap brings connected coding-agent activity to a small floating display. See when a turn is running, needs your input, or finishes, without repeatedly opening every agent window.
Connect the agents you already use.
Open Tap Settings and choose Agent connections. Supported integrations include Codex, Claude Code and Cursor. Tap reads supported local activity records or uses installed hooks, depending on the provider. Some hook integrations require you to trust or enable them in the agent app.
Three states that give you context.
Working means a supported activity source reports a running turn. Needs-input states tell you that a reply or decision may be waiting. Finished means a turn ended; it does not guarantee the whole project is complete. Updates depend on the agent emitting activity and can be delayed.
Keep the conversation in its own app.
Tap is an activity companion, not a replacement agent or a built-in AI model. Open the original agent app to review its work, respond to a question, approve an action or give the next instruction.
Permission with a purpose.
Agent connections are optional. They use local agent records or hooks, which may contain task context. Review the connection details before enabling them. Connecting an agent does not require granting Tap access to email, calendars or your address book.
Make room when things are quiet.
When there is no relevant activity, the display can settle into a small edge entry. Hover to preview it, or use Command–Shift–Space to bring Tap back. An expanded workspace stays open while you work.
